DESCRIPTION:
1968 Plymouth Barracuda convertible for sale. Very solid car that needs restored. Runs, yard drives, starts right up. 318 w/auto trans, PS, PB, Power Top and super rare Factory A/C on a convertible Barracuda. Car has a not rusted fender tag, has the original Certi Card in the original owner's manual. It is believed to be original mileage at about 135k.
Body- Floor and trunk pans are extremely nice, pretty incredible. Body has a few simple rust spots to repair, nothing even close to structural. Body panels are laser straight. Trim is all there but needs freshened up. No sign of it ever being hit, original bumpers show no damage or being out of place. Hood and deck lid have no rust. Spare tire well is perfect. Door pillars, A & B are great, no rust. Glass is good. Under hood is dang near perfect, so ready for an easy restoration. Car was undercoated many years ago and I am sure that helped save it. Original 14" rims and hubcaps.
Interior- It's all there. Needs freshened up. I'd put an interior kit in it. Car comes with a very nice dash gauge bezel and gauges, worth some $ on it's own. Factory interior color is white, backed up by the trim plate. Original steering wheel. Chrome needs refreshed. Top works, goes up n down, certainly needs a new top.
Mechanical- The 318 starts right up, even after sitting a couple of weeks. It yards drives, the brakes need gone through. Car comes with a new front left brake drum, set of shoes and bearings. Pedal goes to the floor but will stop at yard driving speed. Hit the pedal, pulls hard to the left. Brake booster is pretty new. Gas tank is pretty new. Shifts into drive and reverse to move around. Factory A/C is completely intact but not blowing cold. Power steering and brakes are there. Motor does not smoke, car has dual exhaust. Engine is bone stock including the original air cleaner not shown in the photos.
Pull the 318, clean everything up and paint it, be a very nice stock engine bay. They make kits that you can drop in a new front suspension set up and a modern Hemi. It's said that this is the lightest Mopar you can drop a Hemi into, car weighs about 3,000 lbs.
The 2nd generation Barracudas are way up there now. In '68 they made just over 2,000 convertibles, try and find one with factory A/C and the other options, not easy. This car has a very strong value finished.
Overall very simple car to restore, it's not a complicated car.
I have a clear but rebuilt title. I can explain the title. It's not a salvage title!
Might be open to the right trade but rather sell outright.
