DESCRIPTION:

One-Family-Owned 1973 Jensen Interceptor MK III. This vehicle was purchased new by seller's brother-in-law in CA and was relocated to ME before participating in the Jensen Interceptor & Jensen FF 50th Anniversary celebration in Turin, Italy in 2016. This seller inherited the car from his sister in 2019. Subsequent refurbishment work included a repaint in original yellow along with reupholstering the black leather front bucket seats, installing a Sanden-compressor ac kit and replacing the black vinyl roof, wraparound chrome bumpers, carburetor, fuel pump, alternator, and stainless steel dual exhaust system. Power is supplied by a 440ci Chrysler V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes 15" alloy wheels, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, electric windows, and an AM/FM eight track stereo. Now showing 63K miles, this Interceptor is offered with the owner's workshop and parts manuals as well as the seller's service records, removed parts, a slection of eight-track tapes, and a clean FL title in the seller's name. The Interceptor was styled by Carrozzeria Touring of Italy, and this example left the factory finished in yellow. A repaint at Wyman Auto Body of Gorham, ME in 2018 coincided with replating the chrome trim and replacing the black vinyl roof, wraparound chrome bumpers, bumper guards, power antenna, window seals, moldings and most glass. This Jensen is one of about 30 that made the June 2016 Jensen 50th Anniversary run from England to Italy and back, the return leg of which approximated a nearly 24-hour trip made by the Interceptor prototype in June 1966 from the Vignale factory in Turin, Italy to Jensen's facility in West Bromwich, England. Five-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in 195/65-15" General Altimax HP tires, and a full-size spare is mounted under the car. Suspension consists of independent control arms and coil springs with hydraulic dampers up front as well as leaf springs and a live axle out back. The steering is power assisted, as are the four-wheel disc brakes for which replacement pads were installed in 2019. A refresh of the interior that was performed in 2018 at Gagnon's Upholstery of Lyman, ME involved re-trimming both front bucket seats in black leather that extends to the dashboard, rear seating surfaces, door panels and center console , the last item of which is accented with wood veneer.
