DESCRIPTION:

1974 International Scout II “Cab-Top” 4x4, 4.2L/258ci 6 cyl, 4spd, PB(front disc/rear drum)

Unique original 2 owner southern vehicle complimented by a removable roof for open air cruising.
A total of 1,828 Cabtops were built for 1974 and only 64 of those were 6-cylinder 4x4s making it quite rare.

“Cab-Top” was International’s name for the pickup version of the Scout. The Travel-Top (or Traveltop) was the station wagon and Panel-Top was the panel. You could also order a topless Roadster, and the bodies were essentially the same for all. The difference was a removable bulkhead behind the seats, and either a short cab or full-length top determined whether you had a pickup or wagon. You could also put the bulkhead in the wagon if you wanted to divide the front compartment from the back.

If you want to make it a typical wagon type Scout, just remove the bulkhead, source a rear seat and full top to install and you have a typical Travel-Top Scout. A versatile body to make it whatever you wish.

There is some corrosion in the lower quarters panels, wheel well lips as well as the windshield cowl which are typical corrosion areas for a Scout. Corrosion areas are repairable or replaceable with available aftermarket body panels. The frame is in great condition with just surface rust. Driver and Passenger floor pans have been replaced along with the kick panels. There is a dent in the right front fender. All body panels are solid including the inner fenders. The bed has a welded in piece of sheet steel over the original bed and rhino lined(all done under prior ownership). Bottoms of both doors and both rockers are solid. The paint is all original with some touch up but weathered.
Mechanically it is all in strong running order from the engine, trans, clutch, Dana transfer case and Dana front and rear axles, plus locking front hubs.

New Starter, New Master Cylinder, New Brake Booster, replaced vacuum lines, New air cleaner, EGR Delete, New front/rear/side light lenses, New wooden Scout Steering Wheel, New Battery, New 31” Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek Tires with New US Wheel Series 69 Rat Rod raw steel wheels, chrome lugs and chrome center caps, New OEM left/right chrome door mirrors, New brake light switch, replacement rear tailgate button opener.
