1978 Ford Fairmont 2-door Sedan, tastefully modified

Too many cars, too many projects. Time to let this one go.

The 1978 Fairmont (and the Mercury Zephyr) was the original Fox Body and the mother of all of the 1979-93 Fox Mustangs and Capris, many Thunderbirds, and some Lincolns.

This December 1977 build (Marti Report in the pics) has been carefully modified for maximum enjoyment.

Lower console gauge panel swapped to (then) NOS Ford Motorsport vacuum/boost gauge & AEM air/fuel gauge
- AEM gauge constantly changing (too fast to see) - unable to capture on the Idiotphone
Vintage Hurst shift lever with 5-speed knob
Early 90s Mustang GT optional sport bucket seats (lumbar not powered)
Seats recovered, new lower cushions installed, weak factory welds heavily re-enforced

Cons:
Tires are old - NOT recommended to make a long drive with them
BoPort cam makes little horsepower below 3500 rpm, not much fun in city traffic
- but lots of fun on, say, Wilson River Highway to Tillamook
Mild valve click
Been sitting, needs TLC and fussing
Somewhat down on horsepower
Passenger door lock does not lock or unlock with the key, otherwise locks & unlocks normally
Map light doesn't work (bad switch?)
NO HORN!
