Brand new transmission. Brand new brakes system.

These classic 80s-era Mercedes 300-series turbo diesels are highly sought after vehicles and this is a rare example of one in excellent condition. It can serve as a trusted daily driver or with ease be brought to showroom condition. It is a true gem.

If you are reading this ad, you likely know that these W123 Mercedes 300D vehicles feature one of the strongest, most reliable diesel engines ever made. Well maintained examples are known to easily drive a million miles or more.

Most of these vehicles you will see on the market show signs of great wear- including typical issues such as large cracks in the dash, torn or sagging headliners, ripped seats, faulty door locks, leaky vacuum systems, damaged wheels, rusted quarter panels, and more. But this vehicle is in fabulous condition.

As you can see from the photos, the dash is in great shape, as well as the leather seats, headliner, carpet, glass, door panels, wheels, quarter panels, trim, and everything else. There is no rust anywhere on the body.

It is rare to find one of these Mercedes in this kind of condition, without paying k+ for a full restoration.

Starts and idles strongly from the first turn of the key. Never any smoke.

It accelerates and shifts smoothly.

It drives straight while accelerating, braking, and cruising and does not pull to the side.

The turbo kicks in as it should.

No noises or leaks.

All power windows and sunroof operate perfectly.

Turn signals and all lights operate as they should.

Odometer, speedometer, clock, and all gauges and lights in the instrument cluster function properly.

The vacuum system and all door locks work well.

Heat works well.

Wipers work well.

The body is straight and rust-free.

All trim pieces are straight, rust-free and shiny.

The carpets are all in excellent condition.

The leather seats are all in excellent condition.

Dash and all wood trim are intact and in very good condition.

These are the things I have recently done:
- New transmission
- New rear axles
- New valve cover gasket
- New brake pads, calipers, pump, and lines

I am moving out of state and cannot take the vehicle with me but if I were to keep it, these are the things I would improve:

- The paint looks good but could use a ceramic polish
- The AC does not currently work, it could need a recharge or new compressor, I have not had it looked at
- The netting behind the front seats is sagging, an easy replacement if desired
- The rubber gasket around the rear window could use a replacement, it is in good functional leak-free condition with sealant and not visibly noticeable except upon close examination, but a new rubber gasket is included in the sale if you would like to replace it
- The turn signal stalk makes a clicking sound when making sharp turns, it does not affect functionality and has never bothered me
- There is a small worn spot on the side of the driver’s seat that could use a patch if desired

If needed, parts are widely available online and there is a strong community of enthusiasts on various forums to offer support.

For a car of this vintage, you will not find one in better condition without paying 3 or 4 times the amount for one that has been fully restored.

Don’t miss out on your chance to own one of the last of these remaining vehicles in this excellent unrestored condition. It is truly a gem.

No warranty implied.
