1987 Nissan Z31 300ZX Turbo 2+0, V6 (NA to Turbo Conversion)
— Located in Dinwiddie, Virginia
Looking for a new owner for my 1987 Nissan 300ZX Turbo V6 project car. I’ve owned it since 2014 I think and built it while studying auto mechanics. It’s time to pass it on and start a new project. This car is packed with upgrades and comes with many spare parts.
Key Features & Upgrades
Engine & Performance
• NA to T3 turbo conversion with adjustable boost (6-11 PSI)
• Intercooled for better performance (requires premium fuel!)
• Complete engine rebuild and refresh top and bottom (approximately 180k miles before rebuild)
o Sealed Power piston rings
o Clevite bearings
o Schneider camshafts
o Professionally machined heads
o All gaskets, seals, and head gaskets replaced
o PRW2 ignition upgrade
o Rebuilt and rebalanced turbocharger
o New fuel pressure regulator, oil pump, water pump, timing belt, and tensioner
• 3-inch CMA dual-tip exhaust with downpipe
• Digital boost/vacuum gauge, wideband air/fuel gauge, and sensor
• Electric fan upgrade with 3-core Champion aluminum radiator
• New OEM digital fuel sending unit and power steering pump
• Redline manual transmission fluid just changed
• Walbro Fuel Pump with Relay Upgrade Mod
Suspension & Handling
• PowerTrix coilovers!!
• polyurethane bushings
• Solid power steering bushings
• Cusco front engine strut bar
• 1-inch hub-centric PowerTrix wheel spacers
• Replaced power steering rack, inner/outer tie rods, and ball joints
• Polyurethane differential mount
• Bump steer spacers
Interior / Cosmetic
• Corbeau seats
• Skillard rear aluminum powder-coated deck
• Skillard center console with cupholders
• Skillard Low Profile Seat Mounts
• Skillard Hatch Visor
• Skillard “Z” Powdercoated Doorsill Plates
• Fidanza Short Throw Shifter
• Z31 MSA steering wheel and Ztek shifter Knob
• Ztek door “Z” lights
• Backup/Front Camera Rearview Mirror with Android Auto / Apple Carplay
• New digital dash power control unit
• MSA Z31 “armrest” cupholder included, can fit over the new console
• Double DIN stereo with Bluetooth and hands-free calling
Exterior
• 200ZR hood scoop
• Viper security system with power door locks and remote
• Power windows and mirrors
• Brand new reproduction corner window seals
• Car repainted black in 2017, I dipped it this year in Shadow Satin Black, because the paint was showing it's age
- Extras
• Spare parts included: original interior pieces, spare digital dash, and more.
Additional Notes
• Differential and transmission fluids changed this year
• Paint could use a professional repaint for show-quality finish, it was previously repainted Gloss Black, but the paint was showing its aged so I dipped it myself and I believe it came out very nice.
- Tires are in excellent condition with no visible defects, but due to their age might be a good idea to get new ones.
This car is a solid, well-rounded project with plenty of potential for further customization. It’s ready for someone who appreciates the Z31 platform and wants a unique, turbocharged driving experience. Serious inquiries only.
