DESCRIPTION:
Selling my 1988 GMC Vandura 2500 with only 97K original miles and a clean title.
This is not a neglected old van being passed around with unknown issues. It is a low-mileage, well-sorted, dependable classic Vandura that has received substantial maintenance during my ownership. I bought it in 2018 with 89k miles, and it now has 97k miles. Because it was mostly used as a backup vehicle, it averaged only around 1,000 miles per year with me.
The value in this van is not just in the mileage. It is also in the fact that so much of the important work has already been done. Instead of buying a cheaper van and immediately spending time and money sorting it out, this one already has major maintenance addressed in the fuel system, cooling system, ignition system, charging system, brakes, suspension, transmission service, and more.
Highlights
• 5.0L 305 V8 with TBI
• THM700R4 / 4L60 4-speed overdrive automatic

Condition
The van is a solid driver. It starts easily, runs strong, shifts properly, brakes well, and rides comfortably. Steering is very light, and there are no steering wheel vibrations or unusual noises. It has been dependable for me and has never been a constant problem vehicle.
Honest disclosures
This is still a 1988 vehicle, so I want to be transparent:
• A/C does not work. Heater, blender and blower motor work fine.
• Surface rust on roof and underside. One small area on the right rear edge of the roof is more advanced than the rest
• Front door weather stripping leaks. This previously caused a stained area on the driver-side carpet
• Minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with age
• Catalytic converter removed
Minor damage history
• I am not aware of accidents before my ownership
• Light front bumper bump in 2019at very low speed. Hard to notice.
• Light backing incident in 2020 caused:
o Small bend in lower right stair support
o Small ding on left rear door
Other notes
• I used ethanol-free gas from Wawa during my ownership
• Oil (Mobil 10w30) and filter (Mobil or AC Delco) changed once a year due to low annual mileage
• This has been a dependable van for me and a great classic platform
This is a solid, low-mileage Vandura that would make an excellent cruiser, utility van, or camper conversion base. It is not a brand-new vehicle, but it is a well-kept and honest example with a lot of mechanical attention already invested.
Text me with any questions.
