DESCRIPTION:
This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL has been with me for about 21 years and I have taken very good care of it. It has always been stored under a cover. I am the second owner, having bought it from the original owner who originally purchased it in Illinois, then moved the car to Arizona.
This car has 184k miles on it and is finished in Arctic White with a Mid-Red (or “Medium Red”) interior and black top. It is in very clean condition overall, with no major defects in the body or paint (other than a few chips). There is a small dent in the front chrome bumper and another small dent in the hood. Paint is shiny and in excellent condition. Leather interior is in excellent condition as well, and everything works with the exception of the cruise control (a normal issue with Mercedes of this era). A/C was recently recharged and works perfectly. Nice cold air. No cracks on the dashboard.
Also included with the sale is the OEM hardtop with a rolling storage rack and zippered case. When the hard top is not on the car, it is always stored in a zippered protective cover and is in great condition.
During my ownership, I have completed many maintenance and restoration projects including:
Replaced:
* Canvas convertible top with German canvas version
* Leather interior on both front seats, headrests, and armrest
* Timing chain
* Water pump
* Radiator
* Head unit with a bluetooth unit (though I still have the original and it can be reinstalled easily)
* Headlights with high-power H4 lenses and Osram Hyper Xenon H4 bulbs
* Brakes and rotors
* Power steering hose
* Idler arm bushings
* Hood pad
* Power antenna
* Steering coupler, adjustment and rebuild of steering box
* Tonneau cover material and rubber seal
* Hard top window seals
The wheels were also power coated and look phenomenal. Tires are in excellent condition with lots of tread remaining. They have only a few thousand miles on them.
The car just came out of service and had the following done:
* New fuel filter
* New EHA valve
* New fuel pumps and filter main hose
* All belts replaced
* Throttle body and injectors cleaned/serviced
Car starts up and runs beautifully. Not looking to trade, and please don’t send lowball offers. Thank you.
