The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Speedster was a variant of the Carrera 3.2 that was produced for 1989 model year. The Carrera 3.2 Speedster was a limited production variant that featured a unique low profile convertible body style that was designed to evoke the famed Porsche 356 Speedster. The 3.2 Speedster was powered by a 3.2L flat six engine which for most markets developed 234hp, but in North America was detuned to 207hp. Drive from this engine was sent to the rear wheels through a 5 speed manual transmission. Two different versions of the Carrera 3.2 Speedster were built, the rarer "Narrow Body" and the "Turbo Look," which featured the wider body used for the 930 Turbo. A total of 2,104 examples of the Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Speedster were built, with 171 being "Narrow Body" and 1,933 being "Turbo Look."
