DESCRIPTION:
I acquired ownership of this NASCAR LAUGHLIN/FORD THUNDERBIRD in December 2012 from an avid race car collector and vintage racer. It was initially represented to me as a 1995 Laughlin/Ford NASCAR #003. I was subsequently told by the previous owner that this is a 1993 NASCAR FORD THUNDERBIRD that was part of Bobby Allison’s 1993 race team. He wrote: “It is a 1993 Nascar Ford, Bobby Allison's car ran a complete season with several wins. Sold in 1994 to Cunningham racing and also ran a complete season. The car is race ready and has a fresh built Roush dry sump engine.” In a second email he stated that it is a “1995 Laughlin chassis, 003, Engine is a ford 355 ci built by Ernie Elliott; All aluminum dry sumped”.
Although I have a reasonable knowledge about collectible vintage and classic cars, I know almost nothing about NASCARS!
My research indicates that this may be the car that was raced by Bobby Allison Motorsports for the 1993 Winston Cup Series with several wins.
The following information was taken from the internet, and shows that JIMMY SPENCER was Bobby Allison’s driver that year.
