DESCRIPTION:
This is a clean, well loved car. Light silver metallic 1993 Volvo 240 Wagon--the last year they made these amazing cars. Automatic Transmission. LH 2.4 Jetronic system. Black interior over gray cloth.
I've driven these cars for 25 years and love them. Prior owners of this car have also cared well for it and to my knowledge it's never had a neglectful owner. Truth of the matter is, I'd like to find a manual transmission version of the same car.
Over the time I've owned this car, I've done several proactive upgrades just to avoid potential failures and also upgraded systems that were sub par in the factory issue of these cars. Here are some details:
The good:
Clean Carfax Report, no accidents or damage reported.
-runs great, still has solid power and pick up
-paint job is excellent especially for the car's age
-shifts excellently
-windows all work, and other standard electronics work as well
-no major issues
Recently upgraded or repaired:
-new fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator
-new suspension all around: Bilstein HD struts and springs on front and back; front strut mounts; trailing arms
-new tie rod ends and end link bushings
-New timing belt and drive belts
-New oil pump seal
-new radiator
-new brake pads front and back
-flame trap and PCV box
-Valve cover gasket
-new transmission mount and crossmember
-O2 sensor
-drivers and passenger's window switches
-spark plugs and wires
Issues:
-AC System works when charged, but there is likely a leak in the system somewhere so it becomes uncharged after awhile. Probably an easy quick fix for someone or a mechanic to undertake. I charged the system recently and it runs well now.
-center rear seatbelt receiver is broken so only two people can safely ride in the back. Can retrofit that pretty easily if you want
-seat warmers don't work (standard for these cars)
-ODke at 180K before I bought the car. First reported ODO reading of 180K was 2018. The owner I bought it from said it was with about 195K in 2023 and have put about 8K on it at the very very most...probably even 4K..so we're probably at 203K ish max. Extensive service records corrrate this. Long life ahead.
