DESCRIPTION:

94 YJ that could use some TLC but overall in good condition mechanically. I have full doors, half doors, hard top, and a soft top but really was on its last leg and you’d probably want to replace. There are tons of quarks with it that I can explain to anyone with serious interest but I’m not going to put all in here. I will mention items I feel are most important.

I have owned since July 2021. It has been kept in garage since I have owned it up until I moved in September 2024. Was outside with hardtop on since I moved but will be back in garage soon. When the previous owner purchased they had motor replaced when odometer was around 213k with the 4.0L I6 that came originally and is one of the most highly desired motors. No proof, previous owner was a close friend and I know it was replaced, but you’ll have to take my word on it. I have replaced/done a good bit of work since I have owned it and will list below.

-upgraded skid plate that holds fuel tank in place. Replaced fuel tank and fuel pump when I did this. Couldn’t fit brackets for the aftermarket rear LEDs when I did this so they are just secured to rear bumper right now (see photo). Fuel filter replaced.

-after market LEDs mentioned above aren’t wired in anymore anyways. Previous owner had a lot of bells & whistles that you would want to get wired back in at some point. LEDs inside and out, air compressor/horn, sound system (amp, sub, aftermarket speakers, capacitor). However, the person he had do this did a poor job tapping into the electrical and caused wiring harness to fail. So, wiring harness is on the list of things I’ve replaced. Personally, I’d wire everything back in on its own circuit with dedicated on/off switches when using. I just haven’t had the time/money to do myself.

-within the last year I’ve replaced starter, ignition switch, spark plugs. Battery just replaced this spring.

-replaced shaft+ujoint from transmission to rear differential and have a spare(got lucky on an error from supplier).

-powertrain fluids changed within last 15,000 miles.

-ECU failed and I pulled one from a 1996 Grand Cherokee from a pull-a-part. You can’t swap an ECU from a manual transmission vehicle to an automatic, but you can from an automatic to manual. However, this causes check engine light to remain on unless you pay to have reprogrammed. Paying to reprogram costs as much as getting a new one from a company online that fixed the issue these ECUs had and theirs comes with a lifetime warranty so if you wanted the check engine light off that’s the way to go. I think Jeep themselves fixed the issue with the ECU by 1996 so the one I pulled should be good anyways.

-20” rims with wider tires than originals. Gives good weight to bottom.

I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but that should cover the most important. As I said there are other quarks that I can explain to seriously interested buyer in person, but only contact if seriously interested.

I love this jeep and do not need to sell. I am only posting because I don’t use as often as I used to and I no longer have the time/money to continue to do the work I would like to do on it. I use it as my beach driver. This is the 1st generation Wrangler and a classic. Do not insult me with low ball offers. I am asking k and will consider serious offers only.

What this is:

-good condition classic YJ that will need TLC but can drive away and no major issues mechanically.

-one of the most desired jeeps and motor by Jeep enthusiasts. Super fun ride!

-great for someone that knows how to work on themselves or wants to learn to work on themselves. The DIY information on wrangler forums and YouTube is like no other vehicle out there. The setup itself is simple and easy to work on.

-even if you didn’t want to work on yourself, the costs to have someone else take care of the TLC items needed wouldn’t exceed $3-$4k and would have this Jeep selling for k at a classic car auction.

What this is not:

-I do not claim this to be in original condition.

-I do not need to sell and if you don’t know what you are looking at then it’s probably not for you. Don’t contact me if you are going to attempt to lowball me. Serious offers only!
