DESCRIPTION:
1997 or 1998 Ford Clubwagon E-350 Extended Cargo Van
This van is converted to a basic camping vehicle. It has an elevated bed platform in the back, a roof top tent, and a battery system with interior lights and USB charging ports. It also has sound deadening mat applied throughout the entire interior and insulation everywhere that I could get it - walls, ceiling, and floor.
The goods:
New tires - probably less than 1000 miles on them
New battery - around 1 year old
Runs well and passes smog - just re-smogged around February, fires right up, drives well
Tows well - I frequently hauled an open trailer with this van during the 2 years that I had it
Battery system is a single large battery wired to a bus bar so you can add interior accessories grounded to the van. I wired in some overhead lights, still have more which come with the van
Roof top tent is pretty awesome. When we went on trips, one kid would sleep up top one in a cot inside and I would sleep on the mattress
Removed original seats and replace with two sets of Transit seats - each set is two seats for a total of four removable places to sit with seatbelts in the back. Currently only one is installed in the pictures but the van comes with both sets. They're easy to take in and out and I placed the front rails in a position where the front set can be installed backwards so the back two rows are facing each other. I installed them off set so that a couple of the passengers can have more leg room (to minimize conflict amongst my kids)
The bads:
Front seat is usable but has tears and rips.
Passenger door latch is not working (new latch comes with the van)
Some of the interior needs to be finished with wood facade (materials to do this come with the van)
For me, it was a good way to go camping especially with a family of four and a doodle, but I have a pretty basic camping style. If you want to do a full conversion, this is a great start. I'll send you with all the materials I still have for further improvements.
Happy to answer any questions.
