DESCRIPTION:

Up for sale is my 1998 4WD SsangYong Korando with 2.3L OM601 I4 Turbo Diesel Engine designed by Mercedes Benz. This vehicle was imported from northern Spain by the previous owner/dealer, and I purchased it from him last year. I've owned it for 8 months, and absolutely love the car. I drove it 1-2 times per week to complement my daily driver. Super fun car to drive, a real head turner. At least twice a month someone would stop to ask me about it, and a couple people asked where they could buy one or if I would sell it.

I am aware of one other similar Korando in the United States - definitely a rare car on US Soil. I'm not aware of any accidents, and it certainly drives and looks like it's never been in an accident. Odometer shows 120,599 km, so 74,936 miles. With this engine it could easily run for 200K miles or more. Some say these engines run for 300K miles! I've put in into this car since I bought it. The main thing I did was have a new Air Conditioning System installed. Full system, new compressor, fan, electrical, tubing, etc. A/C is a must for this car in Florida and now I can enjoy driving it in any climate. I also had new tires installed, a new windshield fluid reservoir, and a new battery. The A/C Tech even installed a remote cut-off switch for the battery so it won't drain when I'm not driving it. Works like a champ. Engine is in great shape. No leaks, starts right up every time. Underside of the car looks great too. I tried to take some photos and you can see it's essentially rust free. Previous owner told me that the climate in Northern Spain prevents them from rusting, and it certaintly looks to be the case. The snorkel is really cool but is just for show - the exhaust runs out the back per normal. The body is in really nice condition for a 28 year old car. The silver is the original color and was re-sprayed likely before it was imported from Spain. Not a perfect paint job but looks pretty good. There are a few small dents and scratches on the car, a small crack on the front bumper, but otherwise the body is in really good shape. There is a small crack in the windshield but it's really hard to see behind the tint border. The only other thing that is not perfect is the turn signals do not automatically reset, so you have to do that manually.

Everything else in the car works as it should, just like in 1998! I'm listing it at what I believe is a very fair price. I'm not making any money over what I paid and what I put into it. I had fun with this car but it's time for a new toy. I hope someone will enjoy this beauty as much as I have. I will consider reasonable offers, but please don't low ball or you'll be wasting both our time. I have the Florida Title in hand. Insurance was really low and I used my regular insurance company, no need for a classic car policy for this vehicle.

A great car looking for a new owner to enjoy!
