DESCRIPTION:
A true classic, this SL500 has beauty, power, and is built like a tank! She's been a fabulous weekend and beach car but I unfortunately have to sell her before heading north for the summer.
The good:
- The magnificent 302HP V8 engine starts and runs beautifully, and delivers serious power
- Brakes and tires are in good shape with plenty of life left
- A/C compressor is brand new and blows ice cold
- I spent over $3k having the convertible ALL top hydraulics (a frequent point of failure with age on these cars) completely replaced, so they should have many years of life
- Also includes original hard top which is in great condition
- Alternator is brand new as of late last year
- There are no known mechanical issues
The known issues with the vehicle are:
- Stitching around window panels of soft top are beginning to fray. Convertible repair specialist could repair for a couple hundred bucks.
- The replacement key fob I bought is a bit flimsy and the back comes off sometimes. I will include the original key fob which is more beat up but sturdier.
- The screen of the climate control is dodgy, with some pixels cutting out from time to time. It's still readable/usable, and I found a company that can repair for a couple hundred bucks, just never got around to it.
Serious inquiries only, please reach out if you're interested.
