DESCRIPTION:
One of the last examples of these glorious Mitsubishi Evo’s. I purchased the car a few years ago and completely revamped the powertrain. It was a fun project car but it’s time to part ways and let someone else enjoy this remarkable unique collectible.
Crate engine was ordered from Maperformance. MAP SPEC stage 2 NEW CORE ( value) with Wesico HD1400 forged pistons, and Manley turbo tuff I-beam rods, ACL race bearings, ARP main studs. 2.0L oem new crank. Fp black Xona BALLBEARING ( new ) 4k value ) stock location turbo with a tubular manifold, Tomei full catback exhaust, and catless downpipe. Mishimoto oil cooler/fan kit to keep the temperature down. New OEM oil pan, with tomei oil baffle. Custom made front mount intercooler with treadstone couplers and t-bolt clamps to ensure theres no leaks. Tial blow off valve, Tial external wastegate with dump tube, Mishimoto radiator. The build has approximately 1200 miles now 6/2025 ( never raced, or tracked ) just dyno and street driven.
Heads were machined and built with new springs, retainers, valves, seals, lifters, 272 cams. ARP 625+ headstuds, and cosmetic gasket. OEM cam gears.
Transmission is a standard 5 speed with an Exedy heavy duty twin disk clutch. Shifts flawless, no grinds or hesitation. Fluid was changed 100 miles ago along with oil, transfer case, and all other fluids. Transfer case is OEM as far as I know, and so is the rear differential.
Fuel system consists of aeromotive billet fuel rail, FIC 2150 injectors, dual walbro 450 pumps with a custom radium hanger in a NEW gas tank running E85. New lines, and radium inline fuel filter.
Ignition consist of Spoolin up coil on plug, with a Haltech 2500 ECU with fail safes enabled to ensure reliability.
Suspension has also been modified with BC coilovers which the car was originally purchased with, haven’t done much suspension work except for the replacement of motor, and other mounts as well as New axles on all 4 wheels to handle the increase in power.
Wheels are genuine 18 Enkei RPF1 with new tires all around, balanced, and aligned.
Brakes are the standard brembo’s all evolutions come with. New brake lines installed with the build, brakes were bled, and fluid was topped off.
Interior is full evo 9 with the factory recaro bucket seats. Comes with harness, and harness bar installed. Interior is in very good condition. Ice cold A/C as it was recently recharged and checked for leaks. Comes with AEM gauges( boost, oil pressure, AFR ) ethanol content gauge, and digital water temperature all working correctly.
Exterior paint is currently orange and it’s pealing ( coincidentally ) Needs a paint job although I’d rather let the new owner personalize his/her car. Body is in good condition, just cracks on the paint, nothing a body shop can’t fix. The original color is lighting blue, not sure why the previous owner decided to do such an extravagant change but I was never worried about cosmetics just performance.
Car was tuned at AG Autosports by Cris Speed and made 673AWHP on 37PSI running E85 on an FP Black turbo. Assembled by evo specialists at Mop performance in Hollywood FL.
Recent fixtures (2024): 1. Clutch slave cylinder replaced due to leak.
2.A/C checked for leaks and recharged, nice and cool again.
3. Tune up performed, spark plugs checked, fuel pumps checked, fuel filter cleaned, injectors checked, oil and all other fluids replaced.
4. New bridgestone tires, balanced, and alignment performed.
5. brakes checked and fluid replaced.
6. New steering rack, and fluid.
7. New OEM evo 8 fuel tank.
8. New battery and relocated to trunk.
9. New upstream, and down stream o2, and wideband sensors.
