2004 Dodge Ram 3500, 5.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel, SRD
Runs Strong, Drives straight, body wants some love. I bought in 2016 at 128,000 miles, I’m the 2nd owner.
The good: Engine runs perfectly, recent oil change, always used Rotella T6 Synthetic, changed every 7000 miles. Smarty Tuner, EGT sensor installed, Edge Insight monitoring system, two brand new batteries, Transmission is solid, rebuilt with Suncoast Performance parts STAGE 2 in 2018. New brake pads and rotors at 210,000 miles. Pioneer Stereo with CarPlay and Android auto. Kenwood Amp and 12” sub under back seat.
The “needs love”: Some body rust as shown in pics, the frame rust is superficial and its solid. The interior is in pretty good shape, leaks in the roof in heavy rain, probably just seals for the clearance lighting. Drivers door speaker isn’t working. The front windows work but the backs aren’t working, the wires on the door are disconnected (easy fix).The A/C works great but only blows out the main vents and foot vents, can’t change where it comes out. No Heat, bypassed the heater core a while back. There’s a trick to opening the hood, it’s easy but not ideal. The abs light went on recently.
It’s a solid, dependable truck that just wants love. The 5.9L Cummins is one of the best Diesel engines ever installed in a pickup and it would make a great work. The drive train is unmatched with the transmission upgrade. It will tow anything you need. I just have no use for it anymore.
