DESCRIPTION:
Hello all,
I'm selling my 2004 Taco, named #9, my lucky number. It has 275k on the odometer and the paint job and interior show it. I've tried to include a lot of photos for your inspection, so we don't waste each others' time. I bought this truck in 2017 and at the time the previous owner claimed that a used engine with 70k on it, was installed. The odometer reading at that time was 243,450. If that's correct the engine has 101,550 miles on it. I have no documents to prove this so I'm listing this according to kbb's estimate for this Taco with 275k. I'll start with current concerns.
-Air bag light on (I ordered a new OBDII sensor that can test air bags to try to resolve this issue.)
-Fourth gear synchronizer has been finicky since I bought it, but hasn't gotten any worse. You just can't speed shift into 4th unless you're at the right rpms. You can shift slowly and easily. Speed shifting causes a quick grind.
-Crack in windshield wiper reservoir, only holds about 1/2 capacity.
-Far right dash light burnt out
Pros
No check engine lights in the last 150 miles of driving and counting. I just did a bunch of exhaust work to address the lights that were presenting. --New vacuum modulator, vsv valve, muffler and downstream O2 sensor. Also cleaned MAF sensor.
-2021 Firestone installed new rack and pinion with lifetime warranty. Also has life time alignment.
-Just replaced the r and p bushings and lower ball joints.
-2024 New wheels and tires, less than 7,000 miles. Also with lifetime warranty from discount tire on the tires.
Frame mounted Reese hitch receiver with 4 pin.
I am sad to see #9 go. It's been a great truck for me. My daily driver and has never left me stranded. The 4x4 works fantastic, this thing easily climbs steep muddy hills if you have ATs or swampers.
Thanks for reading.
