DESCRIPTION:
2005 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD V6
275,366 miles
Following done January of 2022:
New: Battery, timing belt, windshield, tires, radiator, left front wheel bearing and axel, left front end links, tie rod ends, right front axel seal, thermostat, PCV hose, airbag clock spring, hood struts, cabin air filter, rear brake pads, exhaust.
All driveline fluids changed, alignment, spark plugs checked, brake rotors machined, rear hatch replaced due to original having rust.
Rear hatch actuator replaced as of 10/4/2024.
Oil changes completed every 3,000 miles, is originally from Colorado until 2 years ago. Has been well taken care of its whole life by professional mechanic.
The good: interior is in great shape, especially for its age. No tears in seats, WeatherTech plastic floor mats in front and back seats. Motor runs great, 4WD functions perfectly, all glass is perfect (no chips in the windshield, and rear window rolls down no issue). No major dents/scratches or rust on the exterior, frame & underneath the vehicle are nearly rust free. Comes with 3 oil filters.
The bad: exterior paint is rough - been kept outside all its life in the Colorado sun, so there is fading and some clear coat peel. Rear hatch is not original color, but rust free. Biggest problem is the transmission - has been intermittently slipping gears, only getting worse the past few months. Have not been able to flush the fluid in the transmission, or had it checked out at all, so not sure if it just needs a fluid flush/top off, or if it will need a replacement. Would suggest planning on towing it home, just in case.
Yes, it has some miles and the transmission isn't great, but its a Toyota, so the truck is basically bulletproof. Expect with the transmission fixed, it'll go another 100,000 miles easily with regular care. Feel free to reach out for questions or more information.
