DESCRIPTION:
I am selling my 2011 BMW 328i Convertible with 57,600 miles. The reason for selling is I'm moving overseas and don't want to leave it stored somewhere, considering I have no idea if I'm ever moving back to the US.
I'm asking for $9k, I'm slightly negotiable (within reason). KBB value is in the pics and I was honest about the condition when I got that assessment. Cash only, but I'm also ok with accepting major cryptos like BTC/ETH/USDC/LTC etc.
I'm going to list out the "good", but also will list every possible negative that I can think of, in order to not waste anyone's time.
Good:
- Florida/Georgia car for it's whole life. This means no significant rust.
- Serviced regularly with proper LL-01 certified oil.
- I always put 93 in the tank.
- I've washed and waxed it often.
- All 4 shocks/struts replaced 2 months ago.
- All 4 tires replaced under 5,000 miles ago, as well as an alignment.
- Engine and transmission are solid. I personally drive it in manual mode but it has sport mode and "normal" automatic (Drive) as well.
- Convertible top works properly.
- Radio, AC, Heat, Navigation etc all work properly.
- Comes with an OEM car cover.
- Everything is great with the headlights/tail lights etc.
Bad:
- Recently some "passenger restraint system" light came on (see pics), something to do with an airbag sensor I guess. The only real annoyance is that sometimes when I first start the car, the seatbelt is tight for a few minutes. Not really a big deal but if it bothers you, I imagine you can easily diagnose and fix it for not much money.
- One of the cupholders in the dash (drivers side) doesn't seem to lock into the closed position, so I just leave it open. You could easily pop it out and see what it needs, I would guess it's just a spring or something. I've just been too lazy to deal with it since it never bothered me.
- Bit of wear on the leather on the drivers seat/armrest and center console (see pics), and paint peeling on the driver's side inside door handle (see pics)
- The bottom panel on the drivers side (near the rear wheelwell) is slightly "coming out" (see pics). I haven't really checked to see if it's a simple screw that needs to be tightened/replaced. Most likely the result of some minor fender bender by a past owner or something, not really sure.
- Couple spots on the 2 rear panels look like there was some touch up paint applied there by one of the previous owners (see pics)
- The bottom piece of plastic on the center of the dash (under the CD player) looks like someone tried to apply touch up paint to it or something. It still looks mostly normal but just has a weird stickyness to it. It didn't bother me enough for me to sand it down and paint it but I don't see why that would be difficult if you wanted to.
- When I first got the car, if it rained hard, a couple drops of water would come through the drivers and passengers side window where it meets the convertible top. If you look this up, there's a ton of forum threads about moisturizing the seals, adjusting the way the top sits, and cleaning out the drain passages. I have done 2 of those things and I don't see water anymore. I don't want to make any promises and say it's definitely 100% fixed, but in my opinion it seems to be fixed. Regardless, you will want to maintain the convertible top seals and clean out the drain passages often, or else they will dry out / clog up over time and result in leakage. It's very common with these cars if you look it up, so it's not necessarily an issue with this particular car - just something with this model that requires maintenance every so often.
- Other than that, just minor wear that you can expect with a 13 year old car. Interior is in pretty great condition aside from the couple issues that I've listed above. Also keep in mind that these issues are me being 100% transparent, as in "these are all the issues I've ever encountered." You're not gonna get any major surprises when you show up to look at it.
Clean Florida title in hand. Located in Estero near Coconut Point Mall. Any other questions just ask.
Thanks,
Mike
